No spangles on the bottom yet I have a wc rio araguaia that's not showing spangles yet they are around the same size

hi guys nope i am not back just visiting. still no time to get really into the hobby again but i still have my cichlas with me. they are not getting as big as i want them to be but they are still alive. eating once ever three days. anyway its sunday rest day here, i just happened to stroll again and happened to see this thread. just gonna post some pics on how the wild caught sp sao frans and the farb bred asian "sp sao fran" turned out. these are pics of my friends fish. first pics are before and after photos of the asian farm bred "sao frans" this fish had some issues before haha i just want to share after months have gone by why i am saying that these two batches of fish are different, besides being there when my importer ordered our wild caught sao frans, and was there also when we ordered the farm bred asian sao frans, id like to show again how different these two batches of fish really are. they might look similar when they were small. but they look totally different from each other now.. first up, asian farmbred "sao frans" these i think are the sao frans that were bought by our american mfkers.
ok next are pics of the wc sp sao frans, here are before and after shots. these are pics of the blinged out and the normal sao fran.
first two pics are pics of my normal wc sao fran that unfortunately died at 12 inches. the fish looked the same as the normal sao fran in the next pics. right from the bat a cichla addicts eye and experience can detect the body shape is different from the asian sao frans.
most recent pics of the two...normal sao fran is the front bottom fish
blinged out sao fran is the one in the middle
so thats it! i think besides markings wc sao frans shape is more elongated than the asian farm bred sao frans, and come to think of it now esp to hayn gangster and boosten.. blinged out sao fran looks alot like pinima with its blotches in the gill plate and markings. blinged out yellow pinima? damn hahaha
(cichla sp salvador aka pinima in the bottom) imported from the same supplier as where we got our wc sao frans.

Well question to you is do you agree with my argument when I said you can go to the Sao Fran river and catch many different variety of kelberi and because of the collection point they all will be considered Sao Fran Kels. The reason I said that is because the pic in my thread that I used for a comparison was claimed as Wc Sao Fran now with another pic that has surfaced your two fish looks the complete opposite so what's your opinion.

I think Darboy is showing the Sp. Sao Fran which many of us have seen on here... That is a fish we have all discussed & think it is a cross of Kelberi & Azul or Kelberi & pinima or something... This thread is for a fish that is a Kelberi. I had said I thought the fish sp. sao fran was a pinima X Kelberi cross & others on here said that was impossible because Pinima are not in the sao fran. But these pictures make me think even more they are Pinima X Kelberi! If Pinima are not in the Sao Fran maybe someone crossed the 2 in captivity?
Ok tomka question what is your opinion on the Kels I posted since you have the same ones since I know they were wild caught lol

I don't think they are Pinima x Kelberi just my opinion, but I think they are pure wc pinima, they just have that gold coloration. Surfing the net I've seen plenty of fishermen catch them, and I'm not saying natural hybrids don't occur but I just don't think they are hybrids.
What's up Darboy? Nice catches! I almost bought a sp. sao fran from your supplier but it was a little to much, but it would've been nice to have in my tank.
The Sao Francisco river is 1750 miles long, there's bound to be some differences in the kelberi from one end to the other......so yes. But unless you were the fisherman you don't know exactly where your fish were exported from.
