i dont waste money on books when you can find all the same info online.......but yes,i do "research" animals before i purchase them,if finding out everything i need to know to take care of them properly and than a few trivial facts on the side counts as "research".

I do read up on fish whenever i can.
I get my mum to get me books on fish from the library lol, most of the books i read are australian native fish books but i also read some on the common fish you see in aquaria.
Then for the fish i cant find in books.....I come here! this place is a HUGE source of knowledge, which is why i guess a lot of people post questions here first.

I know i have done the same many times!
