Look like burns to me too. I've had way too many fish get scorched in the past so I only run in-lines now.

Not heater burns. Have had a guard on the heater for two days now and there's now even more spots.

Given how the spots are so round in shape it can either be some kind of funky parasite. Which is unlikely or a bacterial infection. Please post water conditions and maybe by chance aqua will see this and give advice on what to treat this fish with.

ADMIN can you please transfer this post to the disease and health section so this fish can be properly diagnosed and treated :) Thank you.

the edges of the pipe are not rough. tank mates are 6-7 inch armatus payare and 8-9 inch TSN. and.......the payara now has ick...hes been moved to a hospital tank. while im treating the fire eel for bacterial infection....treating with melafin and Tetracycline. the fire eel is 22 inches btw.

You need to post water parameters. Ammonia, nitries, nitrates, Ph and hardness if available. These parameters are importand when dignosing and recamending treatment. Not all meds work in all parameters. Help us to help you by posting parameters asap. I would not have just used Tetracyclene as it is good for only very specific gram positive issues which this does not look like.

i didnt think posting paramaters would be relavant after i started treatment. the water changes are every other day or every third day. i dont remember what the numbers were a few days ago when we noticed this but nothing was bad. this is our smallest and easiest tank. i'll check again tonight. the Tetracyclene was used based on something similar found on yahoo answers. all i got here was "heater burns, heater burns heater burns" which i knew it wasnt. so, desperate to save my fish, i went with the only advice offered.
