i would test it on head loss. put the bucket at 7-10ft. it will test the torque of the pump. the more output at a higher head return will show who has the better pump power. but as said... fx5 has not been tested for 10yrs and more. i would still say fx5 is an excellent canister, eheim is a well recognized brand with great quality.
