does anyone keep “mudfish” ?

Many people know the latin names for their fish. I definitely do and I'm sure others on this site do as well. Latin names are a godsend.
you know the latin names to every single fish you keep? i know the majority of mine but i doubt that many people know the latin name of a fish before buying it or make a point to. i probably have to read a latin name atleast 10 times to have it memorized. i just dont feel like what i did was that irresponsible, putting him with a pea puffer was however he didnt mention that.

Once I know the genus, its pretty much easy to identify anything. I can think of the genus on the spot most of the time.

im looking for any information on the species as i cant find anything online about them. theyre slender brown fish with interesting fins and a mouth that extends out of their head just so no one is confused on what fish im referring to . they seem to be micro predators/ grazers. any information including the latin name would be very helpful as ive been keeping mine for about a month and he seems to be getting more hungry and skinnier. ive been feeding the tank bloodworms and algae wafers he seems to like the wafers. this fish was also featured on an aquarium coop unboxing if that helps anyone recognize the fish im talking about because “mudfish” generally refers to lungfish. thanks in advance.
