i tired it as well my favorite sand right now i have both my tanks filled with it they have red flint sand small grain.
Its cheap and very natural looking, and brings out all the colors in my fish.
I'm a fan of black gravel but will admit that some fish tend to darken up because of it though. My female convict is in a black gravel tank right now and she looks way, way darker than normal. I can't wait untill she's ready to be moved to the black/bright blue gravel tank as seen in my avatar.
