i know right? i dont really care if they have broken spine i still love it no differencejustonemoretank;3330488; said:I hate the way people just assume that if the fish has something wrong with it, then YOU are a bad fishkeeper! Half of my fish are rescues, and they were likely missing an eye, had DE, whatever, when they came to me. My RTC has gill curl, but he has had a better life than some people's real children. Stuff just happens sometimes, DE included. I did purchase a two-foot aro with DE, but he beat himself up during the move so badly that he didn't recover. I mainly needed him to be big, because of my RTC... so I didn't care about the DE. Also, the exact causes of DE and gill curl are still not established, so if you really don't know, it's hard to avoid. If I ever purchased one again, I don't think I'd care about DE. Fish are fish, and if you can't love them for their personalities, then what you've got is a really expensive box of trophies.
if its your own personal pet, who cares about the money. if all you have is dollar signs in your eyes then you keep fish for the wrong reasons IMO.T1KARMANN;3330701;3330701 said:with Asian aros its a different story to silvers
no one is going to pay big money for a large Asian aro with drop eye
with large silvers most have it so if you are buying a large silver its a strong chance it will have drop eye
for me its ugly
some say they don't mind drop eye but I'm sure if they had the chance they would rather not have it
if its a case of does the aro look better with or without it the the answer will be without drop eye
if you dont like it buy a black you will have less chance of the ugly drop eye
i agree and DE makes the aro looks more monster too mejcardona1;3330850; said:if its your own personal pet, who cares about the money. if all you have is dollar signs in your eyes then you keep fish for the wrong reasons IMO.
i wish my silver didnt have DE, but i dont like him any less because of it
