does enyone have a tiger muskie

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have had one, many moons ago. They grow very fast mine i got as a fingerling which means that it is 4 inches or under. Mine got 18 inch in less than a year. He was released into a farm pond that had a severe bluegill problem needless to say i see him everyonce and a great while in this pond and its very large over 4 feet and cannot be caught by anyone who fishes that pond. So he has a home for life it would be about 10 years old now.

I've been to a hatchery that breeds them. The the little fingerlings are so tiny but get so big in no time. I'd love to have one but I don't have a tank the size of an RV.

I have caught one in the lake.. but didn't keep him.

I did put a blue gill in my 180 gallon but he didn't eat so I put him back in the lake.

The tiger muskies were HUGE!! every one I saw in person was over 36 inches. You'd need a big ass tank!

i wouldnt be suprised since people have aripimas and alligator gars

Yeah it's mind blowing. I think a tank at least 3 ft wide and twelve feet long would be minimum, maybe more. I have seen juvie muskies for sale, but I know the mortality rate is high. Someone tried to trade one in the other day at the store, couldn't understand why the store or the employees wouldn't want it.

I hate to even bring it up, but what you did was illegal. Once you put a fish in your tank, you shouldn't and aren't permitted to release it.

umm, depends what you call a pikeral. Walley can get up to 3 feet, on the VERY VERY large side of things, and pikeral (esox) mostly stay between 19 and 26 depending on the exact species

Just wundering, how big does a pikeral get

Redfin pickerel (Esox americanus americanus) and Grass pickerel (Esox americanus vermiculatus) will get no more than 12" usually.

Chain pickerel (Esox niger) can get three times that size.
