Does Everybody use heaters?

I have heaters on all my tanks, they shut off if it gets warm enough so I don't see why I shouldn't.

I tried to keep guppies once upon a time with no heater at cooler temps..lower 70's, a few "mysteriously" died before I bought one.

i only use heaters during the winter time, my tanks just ride the temperature and my fish dont seem to mind at all, today my 6 foot tank is at 20 degrees C, thats 68F, my fish dont mind at all because they are used to it.

depends on where you live and what temp your house is. I do not use them, but i am in the desert.

Does a submerged sump pump count as a water heater?

All purr tanks have them I'd rather have them and never need them than have my fish die from cold

I use a heater because i like my temps at 82-83

i am in the uk, its freezing right now. i use heaters in my 3 and 2 foot tanks, they are kept at 26 degrees celsius. i dont use a heater in my baby tank, its only 5 gallons, and the light keeps it at a steady 25 degrees

I have an outdoor fish tank- so I need a heater since it can get cold at night. Works really well. but then it doesn't get that cold in los angeles.

I only heat my growout tank to 78-79F. All my other tanks are heated by the house temp and lights to around 76-77F. My fish stay healthy and very active.
