Does my new clown have ich?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hey, little loachie hand feeding already. I'd say the white spot is history for now.

Thanks Eva. He comes to my hand now every time. I can even hold small NLS pellets loosely and he just pulls them out from my fingers one by one stopping to "chew" each one for a few seconds but staying near my hand while doing so.
Considering he's kept a lone loach for now it's amazing how outgoing he is. He's out dancing all the time at the front glass and the platies have started to imitate his style, swimming vertically next to him, very funny.....

But. I really need to take out a bunch of them and move them out to another tank as it's very crowded. I was just holding off till I am sure they are all disease free plus I am being selfish as they are all so content together in there....They do get daily water changes though, so it's manageable for now but both the clown loach and the platies will be happier in the bigger tanks and will unfortunately be separated. I think part of the reason the clown loach is so outgoing is because he's in a crowded tank with outgoing fish and that will change soon...

I think you're right, all of the platies are most likely contributing to him feeling more outgoing. I think he's a spunky little dude anyway though. How much longer are you going to keep him in quarantine?

I think I may move him anytime now.....I think it's been two months now since I got him...
Just getting brave to start chasing him with a net which would be cruel right now :)
I am trying to figure out the least stressful way to catch him and can't figure out an easy way. I wish I had some sort of small cave I can put in the tank in which he may try to hide and I can move him this way but I have nothing suitable.

I will Eva. I planned to do it yesterday after the big water change in the clown loach tank but didn't do it, shame on me :)
The little guy is such a pet right now, raids my fingers all the time and I can't approach the tank without him coming up. And of course I am loving the attention :) What a selfish fishkeeper I am, lol.

He, he, yes. It's still not too late. Sometimes I do impulsive stuff, like buying this loach too and I may still scoop him out given the right moment.
On another note, I can't wait to see him with the others. He'll be the punch bag probably though. Right now the smallest of my others always plays the cushion at the bottom when the others race the glass up and down. He normally sort of lays on his side and the others swim up and then down, bouncing of him like a trampoline. I wonder if that's part of being the lowest in the hierarchy or that loach just loves being abused....
