Cloudy eye is sign of ammonia/chlorine or chemical burn. First thing to do when you see it is do massive water change (40%-50%) and add salt. If you want to add any chemical to your tank, you MUST do water change first, remove all carbon, since the carbon will filter out all chemical that you add. When you have a filter unplug for more than 4 hours, you should take everything out and wash. A canister with water inside and no circulation is contaminated with dead bacteria. To plug it in without proper cleaning will contaminate your tank water. You do everything backward. If I was you, I wouldn't add anything in my tank until I have a chance to do the water change, since the water quality is already bad, adding chemical will have an impact on dissolve oxygen, make it worst, plus your tank temp is in 88F. That's why the fish having hard time to breath. BTW, don't ever over dose medicine, on fish or yourself
Bad news. Sounds like you probably should have had a Nitrite or ammonia spike as a result of the FX5 being off. Turn your temp down. Rip out your carbon. Then do a 50%+ Change then another the following day.arkmann;3060302; said:Now that you mentioned it, yes I did....
