I think I have 35 or so in there.

I have lost 3 or 4 in the last 10 months.... You never have to remove a trouble maker.... alive that is.

It's kinda funny that if one of the fish trys to cause too much trouble the others will gang up and kill it.

Most of the fish in this tank have been put in here because they were killing fish in the tanks that they were in.

Yup Your tank is new York City LOL!!!! :) A murderer gets caught by the mob it is striking fear into and they take care of him

I too believe it tends to spread the aggression... Though when certain fish decide the tank is theirs ... Well Lets just say I started losing 1 or 2 fish per night last year and my Venustus were getting larger and larger :)

I have had instances where 1 bully fish does his harassment this way: The bully would pick one fish (usually the low man on the totem pole) and chase and harass it until he either killed it or you removed the beaten fish. Then the bully moved on the the next lowest fish on the list, and so on. Eventually, the bully would be the only fish in the tank. :irked:

.

My african tank alwas has a "top dog" of the tank it was a male mbuna a beautiful fish , he used to pick on ANY new fish i put in there until it was dead , it was very difficult to introduce new fish the only way i found they had a small chance to survive was to totally rearrage the tank when i put new fish in , he eventually came down with some kind of fungus on his "nose" never seen anything like it and then the abuse started on him i tried to catch him to put him in my hospital tank but he kept hinding in the rocks and in the morning the rest of the fish killed him off. Now theres a new top dog a blue zebra hes a little nicer but still controls the tank , its funny how they do this in there own glass world :D
