yall would probably consider me to be one of "those kids" but to be fully honest i came into thsi knowing next to nothing and when i saw my fish start to grow and i saw how they responded when i walked in the room, i realized they're living things and i have grown to love them and to love the hobby. maybe im in the minority, but i actually think some people that come in blind, end up learning alot and enjoying it as much as anyone else.. but there definetly are those out there that just have no place owning monesters.

good topic though, cus i feel both sides =)

You are in the majority here. Everyone starts somewhere, and some care about the fish more than others.

I think there should be a number of different liscences to be able to keep different kinds of fish, it would be alot more comfussing most likely but i think it would most defiantly save alot of rare fish from being mistreated!
No No no! That would really make it impossible for the poor, dedicated fish keepers like me!

the hobby needs those stupid people though.... they are good for something besides making me laugh just havent figured it out yet...

My stepsons dad bought an 230 g as his first tank. SW with 100kg live rock.
(Maybe he wanted to impress me, I dont know and I dont care.) Now its been several months and he still dont got any fish (or lights!).
Everytime he comes over and he comments about my small 90g I asks " and how is your fish doing?" :ROFL: :headbang2:owned:

:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

far out good for you

I've been studying on that (big grin)

Sadly there are people like that. My lfs leases tanks to offices and whatever business wants a tank. They get a 210, 180 say and they come and clean it and do all the maintenance on it. I would do it if I had the money though, I mean, why wouldn't you? I know you could say you wouldn't have the experience or the "joy" of cleaning there tanks anymore. I don't know about you but I never enjoy or have fun experiences when cleaning.
