I'm looking at buying a 75g from a guy on CL. It comes with a wooden stand and he's selling it for $75 so good deal. The problem is, I saw in his pictures that it has no center brace. Is that normal on a 75? I though 55 and up had braces. The last thing I want is 75 gallons of water on my floor.

I have a 80 gallon with no center brace. It's an old tank but its a beauty! No problems what so ever. When you go to buy it just check and see if it ever had a center brace or not.

Makes me a little nervous at least. Plus when I asked him to have it full when I picked it up he told me "it held water last time it was used and is sold as is"

i bought a 90g from a guy with a homemade stand for 200 with a filter and other stuff.. now i feel like i got ripped, it also has a broken brace

Now that I look at my 80 gal compared to the 125 gal next to it... I can see that the glass on the 80 gal is thicker than the glass on the 125 gal! The 125 gal has 3/8 inch glass while the 80 gal has 1/2 in glass.:WHOA: Ask him to measure the glass.
