Man he looks so nice! I REALLY miss this guy. Im glad to see him in good hands though! Once he gets in that bigger tank I bet his growth is going to explode! Please keep me posted!

ETA, I just watched the video again and got sad he is gone! :( I hope once I keep a few pups out my rays and have a bigger tank I can get another one and HOPEFULLY get him off of live.

For sure. I was browsing some of the videos you made on youtube, and you can see the growth on him from the first couple you'd posted. There's quite a video catalog on this fish!

His colors are staying amazing too. I love him.

Oh god, please do get another. Especially for housing in the bigger tank you have waiting as well. Before I built mine, I saw the ad for the tank (I think) you're getting, and that's going to be a showstopper!

Those are some mean teeth haha. I have seen pictures of these fish but never knew what they where, I can only assume there is no hand feeding going on there :grinno:

I beg the differ, I have actually hand fed this fish and I know Dustin can too, but not sure if he has tried yet! :D

Yes, actually I have hand fed him, and JD has as well. There's a video on youtube somewhere.

The fish is very smart and knows what's going on, and as long as I don't cover the shrimp up with my hand he doesn't get close to biting me.

I do get soaked though, because they like to make a grand run back to the deeper part of the tank with their tails.

How big is that thing? I thought it was like 13in when JD had it but it looks small in that 75.

I am not 100% sure, so I don't want to throw a guesstimate out there. It was around 12.5 inches when I measured it out of the water the day I transferred it into my Q tank, so if there was a gun to my head, I'd say almost 14 inches.

He should have been transferred into my larger tank last week after it was done cycling, but as I previously stated, I am going to wait until his scales are back in place. I'm not risking it again while he's still healing.

When I deem him healthy enough to transfer him into the big tank, I'll put a ruler to him quick and get a definitive answer.

Mine eats shrimp too. Awesome dude! Looks great. Will get a video of mine doing the same!

It's nice seeing them start to realize that's their new food source, so when they see you coming they raise up. Gotta love it.

just wait, their wont be any hand feeding when he gets bigger... i was going into my tank a few days ago and mine almost got my hand:nilly: i jumped so fast i hit my head on the ceiling:screwy: i prob wouldnt have taken a bite but ill deff make sure hes fed next time.

i starved mine for 10 days until he took shrimp. it took him a little to warm up to it but now be beggs for it....

deff a sweet fish but i wish i could keep tankmates with him.
