Does your tank ever condense water onto the outside of it ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Look inside your tank about an inch or so down, where the water level is now. There's silicone around the entire inside where the trim meets the glass. It might be under a lip so feel under there with your finger if there is one. Or fill the tank back up and watch where it's leaking from.

*EDIT* honestly it's probably not that big of a deal if you don't mind your water level right there.

Don't mention it and good luck with all your tank endeavors. MFK'ers united. :D

Whenever you see some water/dampness, look around to see if there IS a leak somewhere. If you cant locate a spot, then its probably condensation. Also a good way to rule a leak out is when your tank is dry, and you can look for a leak then. If you dont see anything, then you know its condensation. Ive gotton paranoid about it too.

toxic gas? Were the fish eating refried beans?

It's just water condensation from the water in the tank being colder than the surrounding temperature.
