Does your Wal-Mart sell AR-15s?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Walmarts in California stopped selling firearms several years ago. I'm lucky to even find Walmarts that sell ammo. Wish they'd start up again. They have some great prices :(

My wasr using wolf fmj will group 5 within my palm at 220 yards open sites. Yeah, no problem out to 200 and beyond. Ur not gonna hit 100% at 500 yards open sites but frankly ak's can be and are far more accurate than people give them credit for. Plus u cant stop em :D

Not for hitting anything beyond 100 yards but it depends on who built it. My Cai wasr10 was a pos but yugo underfolder isn't too bad.

If you wanna talk AK's it have everything to do with their manufacturing country.
For instance, my buddy had a chinese or korean (cant remember for sure which) and it threw lead all over the place.
Then he got an egyptian, and its alot more accurate, not worth its weight in crap past about 200 yds though but it shows the difference in manufacturing.
If your goin for an AR and want the reliability (still not as unstoppable as an ak, but far far more accurate) i would go with a sig, they did alot to fix the reliability and fouling problems by making it a piston gas system. I shot one of the sig 556 @ 300 yds and farther hitting paper plates all day.
And yes the wal mart here carries the bushmaster ar as well but for the price you'd be better of with a DPMS.

Ouch, that really sucks. Knowing Walmart, they might bring them back at some point (unless CA laws are the cause) since they're always changing things up.

The funny thing is that AKs have always used that system, and it took this long for the AR manufacturers to catch on (and then add an unnecessarily high price tag to it, too).

Very true wiggles. However you are in large part getting what you pay for. As great of a rifle as AK's are (and i do love them), they are a great "will fire no matter what" type rifle. That being said, an AR (used and maintained correctly) is still my preference even givin the price difference due to a couple of factors.
#1- I greatly enjoy precision and long range shooting as well as tactical competition courses. I have never seen or shot an AK that will keep up when it comes to 300-600 yd shots.
#2- Is the s*&% hits the fan scenario.. If that were to actually happen, the AR would allow you to get ammo from just about any fallen combatant due to the fact that they fire the 5.56 nato round (.223) as well as interchangable parts with almost any AR out there. The AR would also be my choice in that scenario cuz it is suited to everything from "breach and clear" to urban combat, to mid-long range shots.
#3- If i want "fire no matter what" reliability i will either properly maintain my AR (as i do all my weapons) or i will use my ruger 10/22 or my winchester lever gun, they never fail lmfao.
