so many things that go on with show animals that i do not agree with.. when i was showing horses i found out that some of the "winners"...had put marble type balls inside and under the horses horse shoe.. so every time the horse stepped down he would quickly feel the pain and step up higher.. they want those feet to step high.. prance ... etc.. so of course this was enhanced from the pain..... sickening practices. Also one of the horses did not have a stripe matching the other horse in the team for the wagon pull... both horses were very matched otherwise.. i heard all about howover a period of time the guy rubbed the horses face until it was raw and the white new hairs from a fresh wound came in ..then the two horses matched..nuts.

A women that small shouldn't be any where near a dog that size let alone being walked by it. And I say the dog was walking her cause she had no control from the beginning.

My dogs are guard dogs. They patrol a 500 acre farm all night, albeit staying more or less near the house, the ones chosen for it, and with the cattle the ones chosen for it.

Woe betide who enters our premises in the night.

They just do their job.

yes you can't say all are like this... because i am sure they are not.. but competition makes some people do some cruel things

Just now managed to see the vid.

Not one of those guys, nor the people envolved in the Expo that intervened, or tried to, at least, had the slightest idea of what to do.

i have never seen such helplessness in action.. just weird.

it is not helplessness. It is sheer ignorance.

They saw it coming....everybody was seiing it coming.

First thing to do would be to put yourself in the dogs line of vision. Turn around, turn the dog around and put it nose against your legs.

The confontation being unavoidable, you never try to separate the dogs by pulling on the leash or collar, much less one dog only.

You are betraying that dog and it either bites harder or it lets go and the other dog profits from that and bites again and harder.

Only way to do is to have one person behind each dog and both, at the same time, lift both dogs hind legs and twist their hind quarters.

Dogs feel they loose balance, both at the same time, and both open their mouths and let go.

As simple, and evident, as that.
