Dogs at the show... wow did they handle this all wrong

what a great opportunity to learn breeds and be paid for it... NICE!!

It was avery cool job. Didn't pay much at the time (circa 1985) so I had to move on but I loved it!

Here's another breed that IMO would be a better family dog. http://www.russiandog.net/moscow-dog.html

I read about these a long time ago in an artical written for the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI). One of my frist jobs after I got out of the army was for a magazine where I used to reasearch information about rare breeds for a puplication that ran monthly dog articals. That's where I learned about all the various breeds around the world. (Miguel, I gave away my secret). Dog breeds, there development and history has always been of great interest to me.
these are very nice dogs and their disposition is so sweet according to the article .. but they are just not as impressive to me as the Central Asian Ovcharka {one i questioned above}.. i just love thier body structure .. big alert head and short tail and short ears and color..and i like their protective nature.. just not sure i can handle it enough to have ownership of one.....etc.. something really magnificient when i look at them.

yes i agree about the man.. he was either totally afraid or did not care enough........ something definitly wrong with his handling of situation

It was his dog that started it. The other in the beginning was not even looking at the dog in front. The mans dog turned around and started barking at the womens dog. Then the womens dog looked and was like what? you want some of me

When I first saw the vid my first thought they were Saint Bernards. Now I see they are cross breed with Saint Bernard.
I saw that documentary on Russian prisons. Those are the dogs they had they said were size of Bears!

To be clear the dogs in the Video are Central Asian Ovcharka (Turkish). The link I posted above was for a breed called the Moscow Guard Dog which was developed using the St. Bernard and the Caucasian Ovcharka along with some other breeds. The dogs in the Nat Geo Russian Prison documentray were Caucasian Ovcharka (Russian).

Just to avoid any confusion between the three.

yes.. i think they should have walked in the opposite direction of each other... instead of just mind set on showing.. they should be able to predict and take caution to the signs of their dogs body lanquage .. at least i think that would have been my priority......... show would have fallen into 2nd place ..

I agree the guy seemed pretty much ok with the whole thing while the woman tried her best but was severly over powered.

I also agree the Central is the most impressive and arguably the most powerful dog in the world IMO. I always wanted one.

Aarrgjhhhh i wnat to watch the video!
