That pic of the hook in the dog looks kinda fake. The dog doesnt really look in pain and the hook is very small. A shark that could take a whole dog could break a hook that size. Or one that small would rip out of the shark. I used bigger hooks when fishing for pacific halibut than the hook in the dog.

because its not remotely as entertaining. Why watch a corpse float around, when you can watch a terrified animal get torn apart, instead? Its like feeding live foods in ur aquarium.
besides, i understand the body motions of a moving animal attract attention in sharks very well; thats why the shark-attack guides tell you not to panick/flail about, i think...
maybe they use live dogs in conjunction with fish blood, too.
some people see an ethical distinction between feeding an oscar a goldfish, and feeding piranhas a live mouse, and feeding sharks a live dog. Others don't.

I can't wait til there is a open hunting season on humans I'm gonna take out everyone that was ever cruel to an animal what about using big chunks of meat and fish like normal fisherman !!!! Now I'm all worked up Damn!!!!!!
How about instead of us closing the thread we all just agree that if it is true it sucks and we will report it if we see it happen, otherwise drop the subject? I am more cat people than dog people but I can guarentee that if I saw this done the owner of the boat would not be in business very long.
