The flow gets week because You are wearing out the motor in you 2260, buy having the water level so low. The filter is having to work really hard against gravity to pull water above the water. It its going to cut down you flow considerably and work the motor to death. And you should only clean the eheim every couple of months.

Why do you say that you have a 2260 when that looks way to short to be a 2260 looks more like a 2250.....
put those hob's on, and do a real water change, not 15 gallons, a wc means 50% at least in a tank like yours

Sorry livebearerfreak, I dont mean to threadjack or anything but im having the same problem. My ammonia is high and has been high for the past week. My tank has only been up and running for a month. I have an aquaclear filtration. I've done water changes by siphoning and added an ammonia remover pouch and neither have done anything. I will add carbon as someone said that will help but should I go to my lfs and get a bio-max pouch? Sorry again
