Eheim for life. AC110 isa solid filter.

The best HOB filter isn't even made anymore...it was ugly but a beast, The Supreme SuperKing. I'd buy a used one in a heartbeat.

I have had a few diff canisters and just purchased my first Eheim, I am so mad I didn't get this the first time around, Eheim customer for life.

What is the best external hang on box type filter? I have a 90 gallon tank and I'm tired of laying down good money on canisters that work great for a couple months then s&*# the bed. So far I have had: Fluval 404, Marineland magnum 350, and Im about to junk Rena Filstar Xp4. Had the fluval 404 first and it lasted 2 years after it broke I said I wouldnt buy another fluval but as it turns out it lasted far longer than the others at only 2 years!! So Im done with canisters and want to go back to the simplicity of the external box. Any suggestions? Also is it better to have 1 big box filter or 2 smaller ones, need to over filter as my fish are messy.

90 gallon tank....Two AC101 filters.........If you have the time and money, well, build a DIY wet/dry filter...........For under $60, I have personally buillt a DIY wet/dry that works perfectly on a 125g........The only big expense about building a DIY, is the pump, funny but true........The pump used for my experiment is a RIO 20HD, costs me $85.............

its always a matter of peraferance. i have both ac 110 and emps 400. i like the emps far better.

Sorry to hear you sunk $$$ on inferior canisters. Eheims cost a bit extra up front, but they last 20+ years.

agree 100%.....also I have a pennplax cascade (for the past 3 yrs) with not a single problem

I started upgraded to Eheim over ten years ago, 2250, 2260, and 2028 pro II, smartest upgrades I ever made.

So pleased with them I picked up a 2262 on HarleyKs recommendation last year, and what a filter.

They may cost more but you only by once.

My old ones are still doing the job as quietly as day one.

you only have to service canisters about 2 times a year. is it that hard?

eheims are the way to go i had my pro2 for a good 5 years and its still running very strong
