why is there no development at all om its coloration?
i've been using only Hikari Cichlid Gold and from time to time some dried shrimps

oh yeah, i forgot to tell u that, the gravel and substrate also affects its colors. hahah yeaahh, the color's starting to show. your's looks like a female though.
 
Of course the color has a lot to do with the genetics. BTW awesome fish! I love unique ones that don't seem to fit a certain category humans are always trying to place :)

I have no idea cus I haven't seen the parents (genetics) but I think its cool now

i haven't seen the parents either but it was sold as a red terror from the LFS and clearly that is the not the real deal
thanks to all the experts out here, i came to know that it was actually a classic kamfa
