I would just like to point out that I did not act like a pompus prick. In fact, I didn't make any attacks at anyone. I just wanted to add to the discussion. If you actually asked why I was a vegan you'd understand. I just enjoy this planet. It has nothing to do with anyone but myself. I'm not trying to convert you or anything. Hell if you think about it, there are more burgers for you to eat. And another thing, I thought this was some kind of forum where we could chat about why we like fish. We represent a minority of people who enjoy keeping fish. What exactly is the point of bickering?

Quite a few people on this forum tend to present their views in somewhat radical and sometimes insulting manner and get away with it. The advantage is that you too can say anything you want without fearing to be censored or banned.

Hiya Pufferfish, I am obviously not a vegetarian of any flavor and while I do have a vegetarian cookbook around somewhere it was given me as a joke, the recipes are on how to cook them, not how to feed them. I have no problem with you choosing to not eat meat for whatever reason, I just don't think I could do so.
Sandtiger, you may define any word in anyway you want, if you wish you could define "sky" as what you walk on but your definition would not be English. I believe that the purpose of language is communication, not obfuscation. I accept the dictionary definitions over the current sloppy usages.
A murder is indeed also a group of crows. There are several older definitions of words in more complete dictionaries that amuse me, my favorite is one of the lesser definitions for the word "soldier", it is a noun meaning "one who pretends to work".
On the subject of reef destruction for the pet trade, thankfully more and more buyers are moving away from destructive practices such as cyanide, explosives, and "thumping"(in which a large net is placed over a reef outcrop and the coral then broken apart to flush out the fish), the change is slow but it is occuring.

murder, destruction, vegan, livestock, eugenics. what the hell. we live in a world where humans have evolved to be on the top of the food chain and people say its not natural. if we were aliens it would not be natural. i am not saying that it is alright but its the way it is. there have bean so many mass extinctions on this planet it does not matter. do you think that pupfish from nevada is going to survive the next iceage NO! but it is still great that someone is trying to save it.

This kind of one upsmanship is rare at this site. This is only the second time I have seen it here. I have been to other fish forums. Usually people insult each other a lot. They offer non fact based info, swear to it, and try to look impressive. Lots of times I saw people who were VERY wrong, attack newbies, rather than give good advice. Mgmt never stepped in. So the novice leaves the site. They never aquire the knowledge they were seeking. The fish will be the ultimate sufferer. That is why I came here. I saw no sighns of this imature behavior. I am looking for the promised land I guess.
