Don't pound me for this...

I used to own goldfish they were pretty neat. My bf kept one that got 8 inches then we gave him away cuse we didnt have enuff room. The only live food I ever feed my fish are ghost shrimp. I even feel bad for feeding it to them cuse I like ghost srhimp. haha. Anyways I dont like using feeders one is cuse I dunno what the heck the fish might have and also I like all kinds of fish so why feed a fish I like to a fish I like. I use Pellets and Spirulina (sp) ne who. Although some new life pellets are awesome in the same way they are not so great b/c if you feed it long term there is something I think it might possibly be copper or something that is left in your tank (over a years and years period kinda thing) I was reading up about it a few weeks ago from a study done online, so I like to change up the foods, I have a few invertabrates in my tanks I like to keep. Anywho goldfish can be monsters =)

I had a feeder that escaped the wrath of my 300 so we kept him. He is named lucky and is growing really well and looks perdy:)

buying small fish from bait shops probably isn't a good Idea they sometimes have high traces of mercury in their system from the waters they are raised in. It doesn't matter in fishing because almost all fish have a little in lakes and streams.

I myself rarely use Feeder comets as food. Mostly I use them to help cycle tanks. after that its a fish eat fish world until the comets are gone.

ASH. NLS pellets do have copper in them. however, i have used it for 3 years as the ONLY food fed to the fish i had in my reef. none of my inverts ever showed any signs of stress and ALL of my fish were very healthy and kept their colors just as bright as any i have ever seen. i had a purple tang that was unbelievable. none of my fish ever had parasite problems or anything. even my hermit crabs would eat the pellets that made it to the bottom and i never had problems with them either. i was told by customers that i suggested it to that it worked wonders for them as well. i have read a few things on the interneet as well about people who think that because the pellets contain copper sulfate that they will over time become detrimental to the health of the tank inhabitants. i know A LOT of reefers who use it as the only source of food other than naturally occuring organisms that live and breed in the tank and refugium. i never intentionally fed my fish anything other than the NLS pellets for about 3 years, and the only other food i added to my tank was in the form of plankton for the inverts!!

Thanks for understanding... But after seeing feeders stuck to the top of filters in a 3-way feeder tank, when they were still gasping for air, half out of the water, it really makes me mad :swear: .

I have 2 goldfish right now that are about 5-6 inches... And they are about 1-2 inches wide- they love their veggies :).

Alright, I have a couple of probs with this....first not all fish eat pellets, plankton, etc.
second, what kind of food do you eat? Do you eat meat? What about those animals?

I eat beef, chicken, and turkey- not alive though. Animals are usually stunned then humanely killed before being prepared.

But I don't eat meat often- I like yogurt, cheese, *desert foods*, pasta, bagels... You know, the dairy and carb family :headbang2 !

Let's put it this way- You're in a room full of family and friends. All of sudden, the roof of the room is ripped off, and a giant net reaches down and grabs your dearest family and friends (then it grabs you). You're dumped into a room of giants, who grab you and dig their teeth deep into you body, while you're bleeding internally and/or externally, then everything goes black and you do. Ahh, a plesant way to die! I THINK NOT!

i dont feed feeders any more but have done for my ATF and piranha.
my current fish eat prepared foods but if i needed to again i would.
