You could've just connected the ends of the hose together with a 98cent hose barb connector as a temporary fix. But by the time you read this, the package will probably have arrived.

How does this work? They actually missed me today so I got a sticker for another attempt tomorrow. BooO!

Actually they're saving themself money. I purposely ordered over $100 to get free shipping.

I did three 50% waterchanges this week. I reduced my feeding to keep the water clean. I hope the fish don't start eating each other.

If there is something that I need immediately because fish lives / health depend on it then yes, I pay the extra shipping to have it as soon as possible. Often times shipping ends up being more than the piece that I am purchasing. Luckily I only have to worry about this on my 300. My 55 and 210 have twice as much filtration as necessary so if a filter goes down I am still covered.

Lessons learned life goes on... I've ordered stuff and had to wait... I've even had the whole they say they knocked on my door and I was home. They just left a note. I was pissed and called they made him turn around. It is what it is you know.... Worst part is I have no patience.

I've stayed home waiting for items on a few occasions and USPS wouldn't even come to my door. I would just get a note saying they attempted delivery but I wasn't home. That is always nice, mail man was too lazy to even get out of his truck. I've also had UPS and FedEx leave the notes on my door without knocking.

The barb connector bob965 mentioned is available at any hardware store.Just bring the hose in and tell him what you need to do.

Lesson learned: If you desperately need something, buy it from your LFS vs. online and having it shipped to you.

You really shouldn't blame the online vendor for the shipping company's issues.

Also, it's much better to ship fish EARLY in the week so that the chances of fish getting stuck in transit over a weekend are minimized.
