I decided to make a grow out thread of my 3 dorados ( 2 frankies & 1 brassy) They are currently about 10 inches in length and once they get to 14-15 inch i will introduce them into my 1600 gallon tank with my big frankie (18-19inch)
Here is a video of them

I will Update frequently and let everyone know how they are doing.

Nice to see them getting along. I've never had dorado swim on the bottom like that. What do you think about adding some substrate?

Maybe it's the video quality, but they all look the same to me?

Great to see them all getting along though!!!!

I'm with KNH^ Doesn't seem normal where they are swimming...... However I am all for bare bottom tanks, BUT all my tanks are painted on the bottom. Is it possible the reflections are messing with them?

I will try putting something at the bottom. I had them in a tank with substrate before (I moved them because they killed one of my african tigers) I think they're swimming like that because i switched the tank light on literally a few seconds before recording a video.
And here is a photo of the brassy

I bet I've watched this video 20 times and I still think they all look the same.

We were all wrong about the last one you had. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?551333-Brasilensis-or-franciscanus

The only thing that throws a huge wrench into this scenario is how does a fish that's overfished to the point where they are now under a limited quota for export get confused with fish that are farm raised? I'm not understanding how a brassy could just get mixed in with Frankies. I'm NOT saying it's impossible, just saying if I'm understanding correctly about the collection point, and the quota, I'd think it would be pretty close to impossible...... Know what I mean?

One thing is for sure....... Just like last time, time will tell.

I do hope it is a brassy, would be really neat to raise them together and compare temperaments, but at this point I'm a little skeptical.
