Nope, that's the nice thing. Just pull the cartridges out through the top. That middle clamp stays put. Nice thing is It will be easy to stack again if I need even more capacity. After a while it will be difficult to pull the cartridges out so I may never do it. Maybe just for fun.
I think it's just the stocking of a fish tank vs a pond. Ponds are generally under stocked not requiring as much filtration. That’s just a guess I'm not 100% sure.
Yeah I can take a couple pics The most important filtration system I have is the trickle system. I trickle in a couple gallons of fresh water an hour into the top of the tank and that overflows into my sump and out to my yard. It's by far the best filter I have as far as performance and maintenance time saved.
