Dovii a few months on

well justarn justarn here he is, my little ray of sunshine.

the tanks needs a do over and is next on my list once i have cleared out my others and got the cat sorted.

Looking good pal, what's he measuring now, putting the pounds on by the look of it?
Is he still mean?
 
he has his moments, he must be close to 13", but most of his growth seems to be in bulk not length. will see how he gets on lol i just re did the tank, i give them a lot more open space so much cleaner looking now.
 
Cool, how old is he now?
Would like to see it revamped, it's one of the most rewarding aspects of fish keeping IMO, Redecorating the aquarium.
 
revamp will come as soon as i have finished the cat tank lol at the moment i have just taken all the rocks out.

they must be 2 yrs now, but growth has slow down. i'm still doing 70% weekly and feeding everyday but i'm sure they are growing I just don't notice it.

Does the female still reside with him...
In one of the initial posts you mentioned about a JD pair...do you still have them

thanks mate,

yes he still lives with the female, i don't separate them. i do provide the female with hides only she can get into and not the male, the terracotta pipes. i have never witnessed any issue between them, well except the standard female nagging males have be putting up with for years hahahaha

i dont have the JD's any more they had to go when i had a big change around about a year ago.

awesome dude.....i'm anxiously awaiting my dovii to grow bigger, only at 4" maybe but also starting to get that blue. Females don't get the blue, right?

What size tank are they in? It must be big, they look sooo tiny in it lol

Some females look blue, check my old thread from 3-⁴ years ago, she fooled everyone
 
Frank Castle Frank Castle they are in a 180G (6x2x2) he is starting to fill it out a bit but nowhere near ready to move. Eventually these will get the 260G ( 6x3x2 ) so they got the extra width once the cats out grown it. From there I'm hoping to set up a large tank that will have two parts, one cold one warm one will have a 2m Goonch the other a 28" male dovii and his partner

We can all dream lol

Probably get the dovii a 300G if one comes up at the right price and the cat a swimming pool in the garden.
