lets hope thats a female

jagster, sorry im not explaining properly. what you have now is perfect let them get to know each other through your net divder. when you see them starting to interact pull net divder and tjen use the egg crate with two holes that she only fits through like house mentioned, put it in a corner on a 45 degree. I like to put it in the corner rather then from front to back because A. He can push on it all day long and its not going any where, B. the less space she has the better she needs to know that if she wants more tank space its gonna be with the male and spawn in order to get freedom lol. This method worked amazing for my Dovii that was a very abussive mate lol. Good luck hope they spawn for you soon. I 90 percent sure sit is female, but lets see what others say.

I have more success utilizing the divider and giving female a cave or hiding place only she can get into. Then when you see interaction between them, then pull divider and see how they do. Usually the female will run into her comfort zone when needed:) I like this better than divider cause the divider can greatly reduce the escape routes for females, allowing for scarring, beat downs and cuts against the divider trying to swim over it.

Should I be keeping the water at a specific temp?

Around 80-83 for conditioning to spawn is what works best for me:) I keep my water in those temps year round with slight variation and just increase water changes throughout the week and add worms/ nite crawlers- higher protein foods, usually lasts 3 days to 2 weeks before mine spawn. Good luck and hopefully it is a female. Give it a few more days to settle in and post another sex pic:)
