so i got a couple of questions, i finally found myself a female. dropped her in and my boy blue went to investigate, immediately he colored up and started dancing around her and showing off. so far so good. She has a log that she can fit into but my male cant just in case things go south. So its been around 4 days now and both breeding tubes are out, head shaking going on and the female sits at the bottom and almost flutters into the gravel which i'm assuming is also breeding behaviour. i did a water change today and her tube came out even more. so here are my questions:
1.she hasnt eaten anything since i got her, is this normal while doing the mating ritual?
2.when will they actually lay eggs?
3.does the water temp. have to be at a certain range for them to lay?

any other information would be great, thanks

If you just got her then not eating is normal for any fish.

By sure about the other two questions.

Once eggs have been laid, drop a divider in there.

With dovii all they need is clean water and solid food, with those provided they become baby factories quickly lol. If he isn't killing her than that's basically all that would hold them back from spawning. Water changes and power feeding can somewhat spur on spawns quicker but I prefer to let my fish do as they please. I'm sure youll have eggs down in less than a month.

Okay cool. Is it normal for her not to be eating? I mean I understand she's in a new environment and everything but I get most of my fish to eat within the first day or two

To tell you the truth the female is still a little skittish which is weird I thought she would be banging the glass. The male is as aggressive as always. But they're taking good care of the eggs always fanning them and taking little particles off
