Covering the filter intake wouldn't be a bad idea. But If the flow isn't to strong the fry will usually just avoid it.
Beautiful fish by the way. I have often thought of trying Dovii, Maybe I can make some space some day.

Thanks for the reply. I was just wondering since wen I got my festae fry one got sucked in the filter and lived in there for about 4-5 days and now he's stunted lol. That festae in your avatar is gorgeous btw

Yes. I normally use sponge filters but you would need a crap ton of sponges to filter a dovii tank. Congrats on the spawn!
 
I would cover them man and congrats on finding a female and your spawn. I would take out any power heads you have in there other than that with covered intakes you should be good.

thnks man. i came home yesterday and almost half of the eggs were eaten. i took the drift wood out and put it in a 20 gallon tank with maybe about 10 -20 eggs left, jsut started hatching before i had to go to work. gonna check up on them in about 2 hours lol. very dissapointed
