dovii expert, help required please

That's not a Dovii, its a Jag
 
deff a jag it has the specal pattern of a jag and darker colors, dovii have more of the line goin from head to tail and more lighter color
 
We established it was a jag on the second page lol.
 
congrats on saving a jag .. i did the same mine had bad gill curl ,and no tail.. he was about 2" now he is 5 inches and i think his curl will be permanent ,and his tail is starting to fill in.. hope all goes well with your fish :)
 
looks like fate stepped in when you stepped in the store. The little jag must have higher powers, he would of been dead by now if a mistake was not made. Not all fish have got great stories attached to them, you love them more for it.

Now you can go and get a dovii aslong you are prepared eg have alot of cover in your tank, dividers and a extra tank at hand.
 
well guys thought id post a little update, the little jag seems to have settled in nicely now, has a little attitude and even had a gill flare at my large parrot befor, that parrot hates everything but has actually taken the little jag under his gill so to speak....he is in a tank with plenty of room for him about 100g but if he grows well il be trying him with my other female and see how things go in a larger tank...i went back to the pet shop to have a word with the owner aswell and i dont think he believed me at first till we looked at the tank and lurking at the back was another jag among the dovii's, this one was actually in pretty good shape, anyway the owner apologised and moved the jag to a seperate tank....he offered to swap the jag for a dovii but i declined as iv taken a shine to him like i said...think im gonna hold off on picking up a dovii for a while too, im currently making a 125g uk 160g us plywood aquarim as a practice for a 350g uk that im planning on making soon, so i think when the 125g is done i might get a dovii then, that way he will have alot of room from the off....once again thanks for all the input guys
 
blackpool mate and it was one the world of waters, its actually usually really good and still is, just a mistake, it probably gets the widest range of stock in around this area and they are willing to get anything in if they can. where you at mate
