I dont think there were hard feelings man, its all good.

2 things are for sure:

Hes a good looking fish (is he the Rio Heredia variant?) and that EBJD has a limited amount of time left on Earth if he stays in that tank with the Dovii.

Dead-on.

Balton, I am just wondering what sex you think this Dovii is? The fins are not clamped in the new pics and it looks clear to me on my monitor that there is no spotting on the unpaired fins. So do you say this is a female?;)

I'll admit it confuses the heck out of me....it looks female. Also I've never seen a two spot Dovii before. This is def a learning experience, thanx.

That is why I wanted to do this thread......I read the way many people sex Dovii and I think the spotting is not as accurate as many people think when young. The solid lateral line fades pretty easily when young along with the spotting. This is why you see only the two spots. Also the spotting on this male is not pronounced at this size. You can however see the faded spotting on his side but nothing on his fins. These two areas will be spotted soon though. Also the female half his size has more pronounced spotting on her sides. I admit the computer I am on now it is tough to see this pic clear.....so that makes it eve more difficult for many. That is why I go by the shape and build...along with color and so on. It's a male :).
