Dovii may tolerate another fish to some degree that minds its own business but not one that invades its area or confronts it. I have a pair of dovii the male is quite shy. I have a jag thats larger and a glass banger. Moved them along with a large RD into a 6x2x2 so I could close a tank down.
In 2 mintues the Jag attacked the Dovii and ended losing to him twice and I had to take him out. The RD was getting bullied but not as bad and has now got his own hidy place and is getting along fine and the male dovii usualy doesn't take much notice of him. The female on the other hand keeps flaring at the RD when she sees him. The tank has lots of rocks and wood. I have a pleco and 6 small convicts getting along fine in there as they have heaps of hidy holes
