Piranha 45 :D

Yes, that Aimara is one killing machine! thanks for the pictures, they look awesome. When I spoke about the Wolf fish earlier, I only referred to that particular Wolf fish, meaning only that species of Wolf fish.

Is the Aimara the largest species of Wolf fish, this I am unsure, but if so the match is between the largest species of Wolf fish which is the Aimara and the most largest and aggressive species of all genus Channa! the Great White Shark of the fresh water! the T-Rex of the fresh water! the highlight! the spotlight among fresh water fighters! the great one! the main event! the killing machine! the Pla Shado! the legendary! the one and only! The Giant Snakehead!!! :headbang2 :D

This Aimara Wolf fish can grow up to 40cm. Yes, no matter how big it looks in pictures, maybe it can grow a little longer, but the summary regarding this species says its maximum size is 40cm. And that my friend, is 1.3 feet or 15.75 inches. But like I had mentioned earlier, the Giant Snakehead can grow up to 5 feet in length..who knows even a little longer. Evilfish says his Giant Snakehead is 4 feet in length, even that has already gone far beyond the maximum size of the Aimara Wolf fish. The Giant Snakehead is legendary, it is so much with its reputation for breaking tank glasses, biting its owners fingers off, jumping out of the tank trying to attack people, the snap of its jaw on top water is like the sound of a shot gun. And the Giant Snakehead is also known to have castrated swimmers, even killed though there are no scientific evidence on this yet but only reports. Again, check the All About The Giant Snakehead thread for further information and knowledge regarding the T-Rex of the fresh water.

And stories of Giant Snakeheads growing up to an unbelievable size and eating humans are around but they are taken as nothing more than a tale. There are so much more that one can talk about the Giant Snakehead. Below are some pictures of large Giant Snakeheads after the Aimaras, but I must admit, Aimara looks impressive. And as you can see, the Aimara seems to have a big head and jaw ( which it truly does have ) because its body seems smaller, and it goes smaller and smaller as it goes back to its tail, since its body is in this shape, the head may look a lot bigger in pictures and you know many things look bigger in pictures than seeing them in person. But this is different when it comes to the Giant Snakehead, and you must know that these Giant Snakeheads aren't at their maximum size, I am not saying the Aimara does not have a big head and jaw though, it is indeed an awesome predator, we are only comparing with the Giant Snakehead. Let's just look at the pictures.

The head of the Aimara may be too big for the Giant Snakehead to swallow, so this can happen. :) *Breathes heavy like the Darth Vader* do not underestimate the power of the Dark Side...*followed by Darth Vader's soundtrack* :D

Size of the head says it all.... all the fish in your snakehead pics would have a hard time taking a man's hand... the aimara's head and mouth are much larger in comparison, and its teeth more prominent. In a head on fight, there can be no doubt the aimara would take any snakehead you posted, down!

and I don't know what aimara profile you were looking at, but...

http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/SpeciesSummary.cfm?ID=27850&genusname=Hoplias&speciesname=aimara

Take a look at the length and weight:
100.0 cm SL (male/unsexed; Ref. 12225); max. published weight: 40.0 kg (Ref. 12225)

NOW, here is your micropeltes:
http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/SpeciesSummary.cfm?ID=344&genusname=Channa&speciesname=micropeltes

Take a look at the length and weight:

130 cm SL (male/unsexed; Ref. 30857); max. published weight: 20.0 kg (Ref. 4835)

HAH! LOOK AT THE WEIGHT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE TWO FISH, AND YET THE CHANNA IS 10" LONGER!

T-rex my ass, bud. There is no way in hell a 44-lb snakehead will ever beat a 88 lbs aimara.

Your fish has been completely upstaged and you need to recognize that.

P45 just owned everyone.

ok.... at risk of looking like a sore loser...

i have to politely ask everyone to return to the topic...

This is getting way off course...

Araipama beats all.... end of story...

yep, i'd have to agree. i don't really know how aggressive gigas's are though, but going by size and body length, there's no way any freshwatter fish, aro, sh, or wolffish, could take on a fully grown araipama gigas.
