similar to mine, except yours is prettier(like the blue)
Yeah, the blue is what sold me. They have more colors now too. They have green, red (pinkish), and orange. The blue goes along more with the aquarium theme.

i understand how it works, im fixing to make one myself for my 130g and try to get it to pump around 1k gph - maybe a little less, depends on which pump i can afford. the only thing i dont get is the math part. i suck @ math. so i dunno how many holes or how big of holes i need to drill in my top drawer (drip tray).

OOOOOOOOOOHHHHH THE CONFUSION!!!

Is there any sort of diffuser on the inlet side from the tank, or does the stuffing just catch all the crud and then it drips though the drip tray to the media?

Also how load is the trickling part of this? Would it we ok to run in my bedroom underneath the tank in the stand, or is the sound of the water going to make me wet the bed :D

This filter is in my bedroom and I pee myself all the time. Actually that's been going on before the filter, so you have nothing to worry about. :D

This thing isn't the quietest design, but it doesn't have to be noisy. These can be absolutely silent or they can be Niagra Falls; It's really up to you and the effort you are willing to give.

A sloppy job that is just thrown together is going to be noisy. If you take care to give the water a path to run down, it will be silent. In other words, if the scrubbie drawers are only half full, the falling water will make noise. If the drawers are full, the water won't gurgle or trickle; the water will simply run from one scrubbie to another (silently). The floss drawer becomes noisy when the floss becomes dirty and begins to pool water. This can be remedied by changing the floss or providing a path for the water to run down (plastic netting, etc.).
