Drawer Wet/Dry Filter

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice job. I like it.

Will also add a very nice. Love designs that require little maintenance. My OHF for my 240 has 4 square feet (ish) of mechanical media. Been running under light fish load for 4 weeks now and I have barely touched 5% of it. Though my load is increasing every other day (9 SAs right now 8 more to go). Hope to be able to go up to 8 weeks without maintenance if necessary. (I travel for work a lot)

I love your attention to detail. I have a similar project that I've had on the backburner for my 75 gallon. I'm in the research and plan phase right now but it is coming!

I love the 3 drawer setups, so easy to change out media, simple design and cheap as they come.

I don't remember if I mentioned it, but this was for a 75g. You can copy it exactly (the overflow is pretty involved though). The drawer sets are $9.00 right now and the tote is $4. I'd go ahead and buy them now and stick it in the garage until you are ready for it. (Save the reciept incase you decide on something else.)

That reminds me of something I forgot to write about.

For the top drawer, to make removal of the drawer easier during cleaning, there are two tabs on the back top edge that I cut off. They are there to prevent you from pulling the drawer out too far and dumping everything out by mistake. Since you WANT to take the drawer out all the time for cleaning, it is very convienent to remove them.

How did you attach the new drip plate into the drawer bottom? Sorry if I missed an explanation.
It is just set in the bottom. There is that two inch ledge that I left in the bottom. It rests on that. (Gravity makes a pretty good adhesive. :D )
