Hello; Sounds like you are asking folks to disregard the property owners wishes/rules and just do what you want. What if the owner knows something about the structure limits of the building? What if the property has been damaged by previous renter's tanks/pets and the renters did not/could not pay for the repairs? Do you carry renters insurance to cover the damage a the bigger tanks may cause? Sounds like a good way to get kicked out.

I'm curious, what is it that you think they "want to hear?"

If the landlord does not allow aquariums, typically what they would want to hear is that you will be emptying the tanks within the next week, or you will be moving out of the property.

man when i seen this thread i knew you were setting youself up for a bashing, imho you should have made sure before going ahead and things like this will happen to you in life all the time its just what it is. we deal with it and move on, i have had the carpet ripped out from under my feet countless times but you learn to get up and keep going. i wish you best of luck and whatever your reasons for not being able to get a larger aquarium are, just stay positive and it will happen.

Sorry to hear it man I know what it's like to have your dreams dashed. Just make bigger better plans. Build the tank first and the house around it.

Hello; I did not get a place of my own untill 63 years of age. I kept tanks under the restrictions of parents at first and landlords after that. A few places did not allow tanks at all, I moved out as soon as possible. I always followed the rules as set by the people in charge. it is after all their place. In some cases they relented and allowed more tanks after seeing my willingness to get along and be responsible. Let us hope that you do not have to wait as long as I did.

i wanna know why he cant. most places wont car as long as your covered under renters insurance. I'm in a 2nd floor aapt. My bedroom has a 75, 45, and a 20 long that i just took down. Also have a 45 in the living room. never heard anything about getting rid of any of it
