Here we are. Found it. A grouper that dosent get big. A white spotted grouper. Or Epinephelus coeruleopunctatus. They stay small only about a foot. I have had one in the past. Had him in a 46 bowfront for about 3 years. And he only grew to about 6 inches. I got him when he was about 3 inches. They are very neat. And while my 55 might not last him his whole life. It should last him for most of it. Even though i have not seen a white spotted grouper past 6 inches in a fish tank.

cool. i must own one...

Ya theyre neat arent they. i went to my lfs and ordered a few fish. a 2 inch picasso trigger a 2 inch niger trigger. a "baby" dogface puffer. and a "small" whitespot grouper.

i'm saving my grouper cherry for a v-tail

them things is HAWT!!!:naughty:

nope

I was also given lr but it was sitting in a closed bucket with saltwater for 5 years. so it is dead but it is in my tank now. I just started the tank so all my levels are still off but do i need to get all of my levels right for things to start growing and before i get a new lr? Also when it starts coming back will it get its color back because it was purple but now its just white?

The white is dead calcerous algae...given good calcium, alk, mag and sufficient lighting, it should all regrow and be purple again.
