where can i buy extra large driftwood? like 4ft long

not sure...you can search it online or you can go look for some yourself

i collect it. dont buy it its retarded.

Shipping on that would be outrageous. If you can't find it at a LFS,you might want to try and find some outside.

But if you don't mind the shipping cost,I have gotten wood from here before, good stuff. Send them a Email and tell them how big of a piece you want, and they can probably get it.

thanks for the site man the driftwood looks good, might end up buying from them.

well alot of members will disagree with this because they recommend baking/sterilizing the wood but there are two problems. 1) you want pieces too big for an oven... 2) if you dry it out...it takes months to sink. you will have to hold it down with rocks or drill it to slate and that is annoying
.

i simply go to river banks/streams to collect.

not all wood is optimal. scratch your nails on it and if it makes an imprint easily..its a softwood like pine and you really don't want that. it will decay eventually.

i just collect the wood and lay it outside and spray it down with a hose usually or dumpy water on it to loosen up the dirt/get rid of bugs. the fish eat whatever i miss. (kinda cool to watch)

all the wood here was collected by me and some pieces are pretty large
