Driftwood adhesive?

I have a XXLarge piece of driftwood that I'm going to saw in half .
My question is Id like to affix the flat part of this driftwood against the back wall (glass tank. )

What would be the best adhesive to use? Would GE 1 Work ? or do I need something stronger ?

I have used GE 1 to build a lot of tanks so I know it works and is safe once cured. The only question is will it hold the wood. I don't believe anyone can say for sure. You will probably just have to try it and see how it works out.
If it doesn't all you have to do is scrape it off the glass with a razor so you can't really hurt anything if you try it.

I doubt wood would stick to glass long term.

I'd consider bolting a plate to the wood (making sure bolts and plate are water proof), and the siliconing the plate to the glass.

Reef folks have used JB Weld Waterweld, which is available at Home Depot. It might work on wood to glass adhesion. It's also capable of sealing potable water tanks, so it should be safe for fish.
