ok so my new tank should be here in about a week and i am trying for an amazon theme so i went to my local lake and picked up a couple pieces of driftwood but i am not sure how to go about preping the wood. i am not to worried about the darkening of the water or the drop in ph because that is actually what my bed bellies prefer so if anyone has any advice please let me know thanks.

i would just rinse them thouroly under hot/cold water

ok sounds good should i scrub them clean and/or soak them for any amount of time or just rince them clean?

scrub clean and I if possible boil them.

ya thats what i would do... dont want any of the lake crap to get in your water...

Baking it also works. It smells pretty bad though, apparently. Boiling helps to get it waterlogged, but if you bake it that probably won't help at all.

ok so i just scrubbed the first piece and now its soaking and i noticed that it floates not really suprised but how long generally does it take for the wood to sink?
