because there is nothing that looks amazon or of any size, plus if i can get it for free then why wouldnt i???????

If you have access to a 55g metal drum and can elevate to builld a fire under it, you could boil it that way. That's how I plan to do my larger pieces. I don't know if that's a possibility for you. My Dad has a piece of driftwood that is still somewhat buoyant after four years in the water.

i've never done it with salt? isn't that just a waste of salt. just do what i say...i know best ;) lol

treat with boiling water and salt a large rubber maid can should do for the soak.then rinse well with fresh water.you can weigh it down with rocks tied with fishing line.

Just stick to boiling and long soaks. Even if you get a tan tank afterwards, it'll eventually filter out along w/ water changes after a few months.

My pieces in my 240g still float after almost 3 years.... Big piece is 7" wide.
Pics are in my gallery.

what does the salt do exactly ??

the salt will get embedded in the wood and help bleach it out safely and will kill off any deep pored organisms & removes some of the coloring that the wood could darking the water. And help stable the pH so it doesn't drop too low, too quickly.
