Driftwood still giving out yellow stain

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
boiling is supposed to help, or you can take it out and put it in a bucket, cooler, etc, if the discoloration in the tank bothers you.

IME Carbon and Water Changes work best..not heard of Purigen before..

True. I have a piece that has been soaking outside in a tub for two months now. I do a water change in it twice a week. still has tannins. It's a beautiful piece. worth the wait.

Purigen good stuff. Probably one of if not the best phosphate removers in stores.

Can you get purigens in Petco or Petsmart?
Not sure but it is good stuff I am buying more.

Got mine from Dr Fosters BTW

Petsmart had it back when I was the manager there, but I think they might have disco'd it since then.

I read up on it. What bag do you guys use? Seachem brand of something else? You just put it in with your filter media right? I'm running AC110s. Thanks.

i have some huge chunks of driftwood in my 90 gallon SA/CA tank and they are still leaching tannins-i actually love the look-it looks natural.
