Driftwood vs Bare tank

What type of fishes do you guys have?

In my 200G i have a fahaka, rubber lip pleco? and yellow lab chichlid...

In my planted tank: CRS / Panda Loaches / Clown Killi / Needle Nose Pike / Celestial Pearl Danios and Ottos... but considering it all, i basically never really see any of my shrimp even though i spent a fair amount on them coz they are always in the densely planted part of the tank...

Yeah, I've seen your aquascaped tank. It looks really nice. I guess it depends on keepers preference but the fish too imo.

^ Thanks :)

And i agree, it all comes down to personal preference, there isn't really a right or wrong way per say, unless the fish are actually suffering... I mean if they are happy, healthy etc, then how we decorate or don't decorate a tank is pure personal preference and most of the time for aesthetic reasons more than anything else...

Although before when i still had my fire eel, it was a daily routine for me to search my tank high and low both morning and night to make sure he was still in there, since there was a lot of driftwood in there for him to hide and i always had to make sure i didn't lose him since he got out once and i caught him in time, but by the 2nd time, he was all dried up and didn't stand a chance...

Wow, sounds like a pain. I used to do that in the morning and make sure I counted 11. now I never count because I see them all! BAHAHA they can't hide from me! Either they are getting really comfortable with me and my behaviors or they are just maturing, or both. I love how they stand their grounds before I make them skid away.

^ I think thats where the key difference comes in a lot of the times, you either enjoy looking for your fish, or you find it annoying...

Personally, i enjoy the "hunt" of looking for fish in my tank... if i can't find them, then i treat it as i've given them a comfortable place to hide somewhere which they enjoy :)
