I got a piece of Mopani wood about 16 inch in length and its been soaking for about a month and is still leeching any suggestions?

I honestly ended up tossing mine after 5 months of working with it with no success. No amount of boiling it, soaking it, etc would get it to stop turning my water brown. Not sure if its for aquarium use.

dam :/ i spent $9 bucks on it, anyone else have suggestions?

What's wrong with tinted water??? U think river water is 100% clear? So what if it leaches tannins a few months??! Its natural and ur fish will appreciate despite what u think

I have bought a couple of pieces of mopani wood in the pass and all I had to do is boil it for a while and then let them soak for a week and then the carbon in the filters would take care of the rest.

Sometimes it takes a while for all the tannins to leak out. It's not harmful for your fish at all and as you do water changes. The water will start to clear up. It took my driftwood, not mopani, a few months and eventually it cleared up. After the 3rd or 4th month.
