ok here's my cool app list, and brief description:

-AndWobble, lets you create live wallpapers from any picture that move. like girls with jiggling breasts when you touch the screen

- Beautiful Widgets, must have app! awesome skinnable clock/weather widget. the best out there.

- Better Cut, create shortcuts of anything on your screen and use custom icons

- Bloo, facebook app. if you use facebook then you need this for notifications

- Blow Up, super addictive game

- Bubble, cool bubble/level app

- Calculator, useful scientific calculator

- Compass, digital compass on your phone

- ConvertPad, unit convertor for a gabillion units of measurement. super useful

- Craigsnotification - gives you custom notifications for craigslist based on what you want to search. always get the latest deals!

- drocap2, take screenshots of any spot on your phone, ROOTED only

- Frozen Bubble, awesome arcade classic game

- Gmote, turn your droid into a remote control/mouse for your pc/laptop

- Goggles, neat google app, take a pic, it scans it and does a web search based on what it recognizes

- Google Sky Map, awesome, just get it

- Handcent, must have. best texting app ever

- Home Switcher, useful if you run more than one desktop, see LauncherPro

- Hulu, watch tv for free. must be ROOTED, on 2.2 w/ flash installed to work

- Jewels, addicting game

- Jorte, awesome desktop calendar

- Key Ring, keeps all membership cards as barcodes on your phone

- Labyrinth, neat game

- Mototorch, useful flashlight widget

- Movies, new releases, showtimes, trailers, enough said

- NFL Mobile, GET IT! all nfl, all the time, free. whatever is on tv you see here

- Pandora, music anytime anywhere

- Photobucket - great mobile app

- Photofunia, very cool app, special effects for pics

- PicSay Pro, photoshop on your phone. best ever

- Pkt Auctions, best eBay app ever

- Ringdroid, create custom ringtones from any sound file, music, whatever

- Root Explorer, must have. file manager. browse every part of your phone, copy/paste move files

- Shoot U!, super addictive game

- ShopSavvy, barcode scanner. scan the item at a store, gives you reviews, prices, etc

- Skyfire, browser that app that plays flash videos

- Slacker, another pandora

- SNesoid, super nintendo emulator. download ROMs from the web, play all the super nintendo games on your phone. use with 'WiimoteController' and you can bluetooth pair a wiimote to play this. mega epic.

- Speed Test, much like the web page. shows you up/download 3g speeds

- SwitchPro, great widget. turn off/on all sorts of things at the touch of a button

- Tapatalk, awesome forum app. Li needs to activate this for MFK!!!

- Toss It, addicting game

- Tricorder, neat app to show off your phone

- Tunee Music, download from the web and install manually. download any song to your phone, FREE

- Ultrachron - nice digital timer/stop watch

- Ustream viewer, watch streaming video to your phone

- WikiMobile

- Yelp

- Zillow

If you use twitter, twidroyd is the best hands down. If you like uStream, there is an app for viewing and one for broadcasting they are both pretty cool.

- Handcent, must have. best texting app ever

+2 on Beautiful widgets. But I prefer Better Keyboard over Handcent. Better keyboard looks 10x better than handcent and there are nice skins out there to make it look cooler.

If your phone didn't already come with it - google maps is pretty dang useful.

I recently downloaded shapewriter, which I like a lot. Just drag your finger around the keyboard to type text. Takes a little getting use to, but works great.

Google sky maps is pretty cool if you want to know what stars, planets, constellations you're looking at.

scanner radio is kinda cool - you can listen to any agencies' scanner in the country.

Pandora Radio.

have you tried Swype? a million times better than SW. but its not on the market. need to find the file on the web and install manually. very easy. i could not live w/o Swype

oh cant believe i forgot this one, LauncherPro. its the most epic, blazing fast home replacement with a ton of cool features. if you dont have LauncherPro on your phone, youre missing out big time

Oh and FYI tt's actually ANdroid not Droid, droid is a phone, android is the o/s. So you are looking for Android apps not droid apps.

interesting, having heard of this one. Chomp was another one that i didnt like. ill have to check it out
