anything coming out of the ocean is going to have a lower concentration of salt in the tissue than the surrounding water. think about osmosis.

freshwater meat has the higher concentration of salt in the tissue not seafood.
the tisse of a mussle would have less salt but the rsidue and water inside of it unless you rinse is salte water. So when people freeze mussels they are giving them frozen saltwater and mussels.

just my opinion :D

it maybe something in the prawn that curses it all i no is my tigers dont rub anymore

so im sticking to meal worms and pellets until i get an aro with drop eye thats my opinion on prawn their is something about them some fish dont like
phosphate? Phose phates are used in preservation of shrimp and prawns so they last longer at the markit. Also the bagged frozen shrimp have phophates in them to.

No that would not mean that, and ya forgot asians:screwy: I supose with the looking down theory you would assume that blacks, jars and asians don't look down, no you wouldn't would you?

all aros jump so why is it just jar and blacks that dont get drop eye :screwy:

no one knows for sure how aros get drop eye

but after seeing the way my tigers stoped rubbing im not feeding salty foods anymore

out of 10 asian aros you would expect at least one to get it so until i get an aro with drop eye im not changeing my feeding

as far as i know asian aros are the 2nd most prone to drop eye after silvers

Did ya ever think that maybe because they (although related) are different fish. My silver getting DE did not happen gradually, both eyes happen directly after very violent collisions. Maybe just a coincidence, but definetly did happen.

if the jumping was the case then black aro would get it alot more as they are more skittish and jumpy than silvers

i have seen a jar with bad drop eye but never a black aro

also i have 6 asian aros in one tank which makes them jump alot more than if you just had 1 in a tank

no one knows 100% for sure why aros get drop eye but if you buy a silver aro their is a 80% chance that it will get it at some stage

if you dont like your aro with drop eye buy a black

would disagree with ya on this, my black is in a higher traffic area, and has only hit top glass once that I know of. The blacks are more timid, but seem to be in more control of their outburst when spooked. Again you keep talking as if silvers, blacks, asians and jars are the same fish when pertaining to DE, why is this?
