I previously mentioned I put floating plastic or live plants in tanks to rear young Arowanas. I want to mention this as a tip for adult arowanas as well. I think that plants on the surface of the water gives adults something to look up to and can prevent drop eye.

theres nothing you can do too prevent it, its genes or head trauma

Have you ever had an Arowana that did not have drop eye then its eye starts to drop? Placing plants in the tank prevents the eye from dropping any farther. I may be wrong however I think this tip is accurate.

I'm saying this prevents drop eye and is not cure for drop eye.

There are some people that say there is a cure for DE or preventing, but it seems those cases are very rare. My view is...if you're going to get a Silver Aro, expect it and just learn to accept it as it's look.

the cure i heard is putting aro in a really big pond

I still think it helps to have something in the tank and at the surface for Arowanas that are a surface dwelling fish to look at.
